| Abstract: | The main focus of the conservation and restoration treatment of the painting „Hermann Friedrich Goverts” from Woldemar Hottenroth, 1848, is the treatment of compressed paint layers, which developed from a water damage and are now affecting about 70% of the surface. A concept, in the foregoing diploma thesis theoretical developed by Dipl. Rest. E. Augustin, will be proved in test series. After creating a concept and repeated humidification and stretching of the canvas in a climatic chamber the compressions can be grounded. The treatment of an earlier impregnation with a resin turns out to be a problem and leads to changing the concept during the procedure. |
